Our client is a British manufacturer of modular prefinished balconies. The company operates in the UK, Ireland, North America and New Zealand. Among the company's clients are architects, designers, building contractors and other construction specialists. Software Country has been cooperating with the client since 2020.


The client needed to develop a portal for configuring balconies: size, shape, materials, glazing type, fastening systems and other parameters that are used for calculating the exact cost of production and reliability indicators.


Since our team developed the project from scratch, we had the opportunity to apply modern technologies and solutions. In 3 months, we provided an MVP (minimal viable product) of the platform; after that we were improving it and adding new functionalities.

The ready solution includes a library of predesigned balconies and allows creating and editing custom projects:

The user can choose a balcony from the extensive library of sample designs. There is also the possibility to choose the desired shape, size, fencing and type of drainage system. After that, the user can proceed to detailed configuration in a 3D-editor and change other parameters: size, fastening system, materials, balustrades, transparency, etc. The result can be previewed both from the outside and from the inside:

The selected configuration is saved in ‘My Projects’ section. Project information includes configuration and number of the balcony structures, project parameters, calculated price and the currency of the offer, technical features that should be taken into account during production, etc. The user can try to change balcony structures and project parameters and see immediately, how this will affect the overall project cost. After clarifying all project details, the client can download an automatically generated commercial offer in PDF containing the technical configuration and the total amount of the project.

Results & Benefits

A team of 6 members (4 developers, a designer and a quality engineer) created the online portal for choosing balcony structures and automatic calculation of commercial offers. We continue to develop the system by adding new functionalities and improving the existing ones in accordance with feedback from the client and the end users.
